Bio

The lessons are informative and efficient, but the feel is friendly and casual. Our students can learn how to play in the style of rock, blues, funk, country, classical, or jazz depending on their playing level and interest.

While most guitar teachers are teaching songs after songs in the “put-your-finger-here” style, our students learn about how music works depending on their level of proficiency and interest.

Timothy Bretz – Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin

An accomplished professional musician, his teaching emphasis includes traditional styles of Guitar, Banjo and Mandolin. He studied music in college and followed that up by touring as a solo act for two decades. His credits include two solo albums and several recordings with a variety of bands.

He offers lessons for kids and teens who are applying to music programs in elementary schools, middle schools, high schools and universities. Tim is teaching from our Los Angeles studio.

Online guitar lessons

Online guitar lessons
When you learn how to play guitar from home, you don’t need to travel or take your kid anywhere. It is as safe as your home is. You can use any device with a camera and mic on it. On our end, we created a professional learning environment for the students. We are using multiple camera angles, professional studio equipment, hundreds of backing tracks, and a white board to explain concepts.

Practice guitar with support

Practice gutiar with support
Do you have a question? You don’t have to wait with it until your lesson comes. Our teachers are available to you every day to answer your questions via text and email. We also give you access to our student support community. Here you can meet, chat or talk with other students, organize group lessons, share progress videos; discuss gear, musicians, difficulties you are facing with, songs you are learning.

Efficient learning

Efficient learning of music
Few of the teachers are explaining in great details how to practice, though are all aware that establishing an efficient practice routine can streamline and speed up the learning process. Warming up, smart time management, self correcting flaws and mistakes, recording and collaboration are all important ingredients of the efficient learning.

Understand music concepts

Understand music concepts
It is important to understand the theory behind your music, but even more important to understand how to apply the theory concepts you learn to real life playing. Practicing scales worth much more when you know the neck, know your notes, and can use the scales around the neck to learn new songs, or construct solos and chord progressions.

Play solos, improvisation, accompaniment

Play solos, improvisation, accompaniment
You don’t have to stuck with strumming chords. You can learn how to build your own guitar solos, how to create solos on the fly, and how to play exciting accompaniment in different styles of music. We’re going to cover concepts such as themes, repetition, leaving space, phrasing, dynamics, and typical chord progressions in different genres.
